Most of Fairyloot‘s boxes are super groovy and this one was no exception. The theme for Fairyloot’s August box was “Otherworlds” and it was COMPLETELY AWESOME!!! It had items inspired by A Court of Mist and Fury, Game of Thrones (Cheering for this!), Lord of the Rings, and Peter Pan, as well as ones inspired by the book of the month.
The goodies in this box were pretty stellar and, apart from the ones in the picture above, there were quite a few extra goodies, i.e. a Godsgrave sampler which was also a poster, a Blackwing sampler and temporary tattoo, and a discount code for Mini Backdrops.
Going from left to right, the first item is an absolutely stunning Neverland notebook with art designed by TJ Lubrano. It doesn’t have any lines, just blank pages, but it’s the perfect size to carry around for shopping lists or memos or just for drawing and random notes.
An exclusive Northern Lights print by Melissa Nettleship was included in this box and OMG! It is unbelievably stunning! Insert Heart Eyes.
Next was a Fairyloot exclusive item, a Game of Thrones Westeros tea strainer which is silicone and shaped like a sword. I think I actually squealed a bit when I pulled it out of the box (Come ON! It’s a tea strainer. SHAPED LIKE A SWORD!!).
I’m going to be honest, I don’t actually ever use sleeping masks. Not even when I’m flying internationally. On that note however, a few of my friends do so the next time we travel I will be able to supply them with the Fairyloot exclusive Fictional Worlds sleeping mask that was in this box.
Inspired by the book of the month is this Witchsoul candle by Book and Nook. IT SMELLS AMAZING! Like Cocoa, Cardamom, and Fig (Which I wasn’t expecting to smell this good).
Next is a Velaris Pendant necklace by Oh Panda Eyes which is cute as anything! It has a tiny page inside the pendant which say “Velaris the City of Starlight” or whatever the actual quote from that particular ACOMAF page is.
Recently I put some string up on my bookshelves so that I could hang all of my magnetic bookmarks up for display so naturally when I get more magnetic bookmarks I am super, SUPER excited. The magnetic bookmarks in this box were exclusive Lord of the Rings bookmarks by Paperly and Co (I got Frodo and Sam but you could also get Legolas and Thranduil or Aragorn and Arwen).
The book for this month is Wicked like a Wildfire by Lana Popović. I have been wanting to get this book for absolutely ages but held off buying it just in case I was right and it was in this Fairyloot box. Obviously I was right and was lucky that I didn’t purchase it separately.
All the women in Iris and Malina’s family have the unique magical ability or “gleam” to manipulate beauty. Iris sees flowers as fractals and turns her kaleidoscope visions into glasswork, while Malina interprets moods as music. But their mother has strict rules to keep their gifts a secret, even in their secluded sea-side town. Iris and Malina are not allowed to share their magic with anyone, and above all, they are forbidden from falling in love.
But when their mother is mysteriously attacked, the sisters will have to unearth the truth behind the quiet lives their mother has built for them. They will discover a wicked curse that haunts their family line—but will they find that the very magic that bonds them together is destined to tear them apart forever?
Along with this book came a letter form the author and a signed book plate which you will never see me complain about because as far as I am concerned I count my books with signed bookplates in them as signed editions (which I adore owning).
All in all this was a pretty awesome box, not my absolute favourite of theirs but still bloody good. Next month, September’s theme is “ALL THAT SASS” and has items inspired by Will Herondale, Magnus Bane, Aelin Galathynius, a green eyed demi-god in Percy Jackson and a sassy prince and captain from The Grisha Trilogy (I haven’t read Percy Jackson or The Grisha Trilogy so I can’t actually tell you what characters they are like I could with the others).
