October ’17 Wrap Up

Wrap Up

I have only managed to read seven books this month (I know seven is still a very good amount but I am usually up around ten to twelve books so seven is a bit slack for me) and, while I haven’t yet reviewed all of them, I will have to motivate myself to get writing.

  1. Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
  2. Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo
  3. Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff
  4. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
  5. Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
  6. Flame in the Mist by Renée Ahdieh
  7. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Book Haul

  1. Warcross by Marie Lu
  2. Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi
  3. An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
  4. Because You Love to Hate Me by Ameriie (Editor)
  5. A Shiver of Snow and Sky by Lisa Lueddecke
  6. The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers
  7. A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers
  8. Starbound Trilogy (These Broken Stars, This Shattered World, and Their Fractured Light) by Amie Kaufman
  9. Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum
  10. Someone Else’s Summer by Rachel Bateman
  11. Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu
  12. Thirteen Rising by Romina Russell

I was also super lucky to get my hands on an ARC of Everless by Sara Holland (Thank-you so so much to Tori at The YA Circle for sending it to me!)

November TBR

Some books that I didn’t get to read in October, and that were on my TBR list for that month, were The Genesi Code by Tristen Willis and A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab. Naturally, both books are going to be on my November TBR list as well as:

  • Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard
  • King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard
  • Everless by Sara Holland
  • Caraval by Stephanie Garber
  • A Shiver of Snow and Sky by Lisa Lueddecke
  • Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco

  1. Waaa seems like October was a Leigh Bardugo month for your reading. I also finished The Grisha Trilogy this month. I really really like them, but I love Six of Crows duology more. 😍 I hope Red Queen didn’t disappoint you like it did with me. ☹️ Well, I was more like disappointed with the series as it developed. Book one was pretty good.

    1. I liked Six of Crows waaaayyy more than the Grisha Trilogy. I am still upset about the Darkling 😩😩 I thought Red Queen was alright but it definitely wasn’t the best fantasy book I’ve ever read. I’m halfway through Glass Sword and I’m dragging my feet getting through it (Usually it doesn’t take me this long to read something).

      1. Yass, that duology is unbeatable. ❤️ Me too. I was heartbroken when I found out about him. I couldn’t bring myself to completely hate him. 😂 And I’m in love with Nikolai. 😍 I hope you pull through Glass Sword and find the series worth your time. 🎃

  2. Definitely recommending Warcross!
Moxie is on my TBR as well; so looking forward to reading that one.

I’m currently reading Because You Love To Hate Me. I’m starting to think that anthologies are quite dangerous. One story I don’t like is bound to ruin the story coming after that? I don’t know; I’ve been having my doubts about it ever since I started reading and I’m only four stories in, haha.
